Overview

This document is a quick reference guide on how to use G/L Dimension Overview in General Ledger Entries.

How to find

Please open General Ledger Entries (Departments->Financial Management->General Ledger->History–>General Ledger Entries or simply use the Search Box to find it.

In the Ribbon, Navigate section, you can see all related buttons. 

How to use

First of all, you should use the standard filtering function to see only general ledger entries you need. For example, entries posted last month to the cost accounts.

As all dimensions cannot be filtered as standard fields, you can use the Set Dimension Filter button for. This is function especially programmed for filtering General Ledger Entries by dimension values.

So please click to the Set Dimension Filter button and choose dimension code and value, you want to see only. How the Dimension Filter page looks like, you can see in the picture right-side.

You can, of course, add more than one filter here.

The general ledger entries are now filtered also by dimension values, you have chosen, see the picture below.

The blue belt informs you about filters application and dimension set ID filter appeared. 

You can also edit filter by using Delete (only selected filter row will be deleted) or Clear Filter (all filter rows will be deleted).

When you are satisfied with data you have filtered out, you can continue to the Dimension Overview.


Please use G/L Dimension Overview button for opening the Dimension overview. And choose Show Matrix in the Ribbon, Home section.


You can see now General Ledger Entries and their Dimension Values in one page.

For a deeper analysis of the data, you can send lines to the excel via white arrow in the blue field (the left upper corner of the window).
