Overview

This add-on, which is located within the ‘Calculate Depreciation’ report request page in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, is designed to automatically configure the ‘Force Number of Days’ field when the ‘Use Force Number of Days’ toggle is activated. This functionality ensures a streamlined and efficient user experience. In general, this request page allows the user to calculate the depreciation of an asset over its useful life.

Functionality

The add-on automatically calculates the field ‘Force Number of Days’ when the switch ‘Use Force No. of Days’ is set to on and when the page loads or either of the following fields is modified:

FA Posting Date
Use Force No. of Days
Posting Date

When the switch is off the value for the ‘Force Number of Days’ field is set back to 0 as it would by default.

Accessing the Request Page

Navigate to the ‘Calculate Depreciation’ by utilizing the search bar in Business Central.

If the user changes the FA Posting Date, and switches on the toggle button the amount of days within that chosen month will be visible within the 'Force No. of Days'.

If the user changes the Posting Date and the toggle switch is also on, the amount of days within that chosen month will be updated in the background.

If any date is visible within both fields but the toggle switch is off then no value will be calculated in the ‘Force No. of Days’ field.
