NAV: Scanning Invoices & uploading them to NAV
Overview
This document is a quick reference how to scan the invoices and upload them to NAV. There are two simple ways, how to do it.
How to attach file directly from Purchase invoice
Go through the standard process of purchase invoices creating.
After the process is finished, you can add scanned document as an attachment.
First of all, you have to have Incoming Document Files FactBox visible:
Go to the corner of the ribbon and choose Customize -> Customize This Page…, as you can see below.
Customize Purchase Invoice Page will appear.
By moving an Incoming Document Files to the right side of the setting panel and clicking OK, you will make the requested FactBox visible.
Now you can simply add an attach a file into Incoming Document Files FactBox. By clicking on Attach File.
Now you can see, your file is attached and you can simply open it by View file.
How to attach file by link to a document
First of all, go to the Incoming Documents (Simply search it in Search field) an click to a “New”. New-Incoming Document window will open.
Now, you can add the link to the Link to Document field and the description of the document – for example your No. of the invoice.
HINT: It’s better to use some shared web storage. When you choose link from your local computer nobody, exept you, can open the linked document.
After these steps go through the standard process of purchase invoices creating.
After the process is finished, you will add created Incoming Document with link to the Purchase Invoice.
As you can see in the picture below, go to the Actions -> Incoming Document -> Select Incoming Document. Incoming Document lines will appear. You can simply choose which document you want to add.
HINT: If you will make some mistake, you can Remove Incoming document from your purchase invoice simply by clicking on Remove Incoming Document, as you can see below.
