For the financial reporting, there are 2 reports available in Business Central:

• Trial Balance

• Detail Trial Balance

Trial Balance report

Provides balance information for all accounts, and includes opening and closing balances, and debit and credit balances, together with their net difference.

Steps

• Search for Trial Balance (in the category Report and Analysis)

Open

• When you click on the link, following window opens

Open

• You can filter on G/L Account:

  • No.

  • Account Type

  • many more categories by clicking on +Filter

• You can also filter totals by:

  • Date

  • Global Dimension Codes

  • Budget

  • Business Unit

  • Dimension Set ID

• You will run the report by clicking on:

  • Send to - you can choose from many options (PDF Document, XML Document,…)

  • Print

  • Preview

Detail Trial Balance report

Provides balance information for all accounts, and includes debit and credit balances, and the net of these, together with the transaction date, voucher, and journal description.

Steps

• Search for Detail Trial Balance (in the category Report and Analysis)

• when you click on the link, following window opens

• In the Option area it can be chosen if the user wants to:

  • see every G/L Account on a new page (tick if true)

  • tinclude or exclude entries for G/L accounts that have a balance but do not have a net change during the selected time period

  • include closing entries. This is useful if the report covers an entire fiscal year. Closing entries are listed on a fictitious date between the last day of one fiscal year and the first day of the next one. They have a C before the date, such as C123194. If you do not select this field, no closing entries are shown.

  • include Reversed Entries

  • to show only the entries that have been reversed and their matching correcting entries

• Data can be filtered by G/L Account filter

  • No.

  • Account Type

  • many more categories by clicking on +Filter

• You can also filter totals by:

  • Date
