The most important points

These are the most important points based on Petr’s humble opinion. Definitely go through all new features as I don’t focus on warehouse and manufacturing or development tools.

Reporting

BC will now allow users to analyze data in tables basically by creating pivot tables inside BC. This to me is the most important new feature of release 22. Based on articles from Microsoft they will push heavily into reporting and invest in development of new features inside the product.

Application

  1. Set up and sync master data across companies | Microsoft Learn
    This is huge as it allows you to share setup and master data between companies in BC. So basically replaces our feature “Master Data Company” - they even stole our name… ridiculous …

  2. Use different general ledger accounts for payables, receivables | Microsoft Learn
    If I understand correctly this replaces our feature “Alternative posting groups”.

  3. Adjust exchange rates easily, replace the built-in batch job | Microsoft Learn
    This is something that a lot of CZ client ask for - it will allow you to run a preview before rates are adjusted.

  4. Review general ledger accounts faster | Microsoft Learn
    Controlling tool for analysis of GL.

  5. Delegated admin’s job queue entries are run by user | Microsoft Learn
    Delegated admins should be able to request Job Queue start and licensed user can approve its start. So at least some change here as currently we are not able to start the Job Queues at all.

  6. Add existing table fields to optimize your pages | Microsoft Learn
    Users are able to add every field of the table in every page. So finally we’re no longer needed in order to add fields in pages. Again, big improvement here.

  7. Drag and drop files onto the file upload dialog | Microsoft Learn
    New drag and drop dialog that doesn’t force the user to drop the file exactly on “Upload” button. Finally looks at least a bit modern.

  8. Access actions and navigation menu efficiently with keyboard | Microsoft Learn
    New keyboard shortcuts for the whole application, this can be very useful.
